Setting Up and Managing Your Mail Infrastructure in VantixLayer
Configuring and verifying your sending domain is critical for authenticating your emails, building domain trust, and maximizing inbox placement.
Steps to Follow:
- Navigate to Sending Domains: Log into your VantixLayer panel, navigate to the sidebar menu, and select Sending Domains (or go to Domains under your account settings).
- Add Your Domain: Click the Add Domain button. Enter your root or sending domain (e.g.,
yourdomain.com) in the designated field. - Retrieve DNS Records: Once added, VantixLayer will generate the required DNS authentication records.
These typically include:
-SPF (Sender Policy Framework): Authorizes VantixLayer servers to send mail on your behalf. - DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail): Adds a cryptographic signature to verify message integrity.
- DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance): Sets policies for handling unauthorized emails sent from your domain.
- Update Your DNS Provider: Log into your domain registrar or DNS hosting provider (Cloudflare, Namecheap, GoDaddy, etc.) and paste the exact TXT and CNAME records provided by VantixLayer.
- Verify Configuration: Return to your VantixLayer dashboard and click the Verify button next to the domain. Once the DNS propagation completes, the status will switch to Verified.
Integrating your external website or web application allows Vantix Layer to capture form submissions, track user actions, and sync user data seamlessly.
Steps to Follow:
- Locate Integration Settings: In your VantixLayer dashboard, navigate to Lists, Forms, or the API / Integrations section depending on your specific setup requirement.
- Generate API Keys / Access Tokens: Go to your account profile or settings to generate a secure API token. This token allows your external website to authenticate communication with your VantixLayer backend.
- Embed Forms or Connect via Webhooks:
- For Web Forms: Use the HTML form builder inside VantixLayer to generate a subscription or lead-capture form widget, then paste the snippet into your website’s source code or CMS.
- For Custom Applications/APIs: Use VantixLayer’s endpoint documentation to connect your website backend via webhooks or API requests, ensuring user signups automatically feed into your designated lists.
- Test the Connection: Submit a test lead or action from your live website and verify that the contact data populates correctly inside your VantixLayer list in real-time.
Connecting an external sending infrastructure (such as Amazon SES, Elastic Email, or a custom SMTP relay) enables your account to route high-volume traffic efficiently.
Steps to Follow:
- Navigate to Sending Servers: In your VantixLayer admin or customer panel, click on Sending Servers (often found under the administrator menu or delivery server configurations).
- Add New Server: Click Create new server and select your preferred provider type (e.g., Amazon SES, SMTP, or Mailgun/Elastic Email API).
- Enter Credentials: Provide the connection details required by your provider:
- Host / Server Address: (e.g.,
email-smtp.us-east-1.amazonaws.com) - Port Number: (Typically
587for TLS or465for SSL) - Username and Password: Provided by your SMTP infrastructure host.
- Encryption Type: Select TLS or SSL based on your provider requirements.
- Configure Sending Limits: Set your hourly or daily throttling limits to match your infrastructure warmup schedule and provider thresholds.
- Test and Save: Click the Save and Test button. Acelle Mail will dispatch a test message to confirm that the connection is active, authenticated, and ready to route traffic.
Integrating VantixLayer with Zapier allows you to automate data flow between your email lists and thousands of other business tools (like CRMs, Slack, or Google Sheets).
To connect the two, you will use your VantixLayer API Token.
Steps to Follow:
Prerequisites
- An active VantixLayer account.
- A Zapier account.
- Your VantixLayer API Token (generated in the steps below).
Step 1: Generate Your API Token in VantixLayer
Before you can connect Zapier, you must authorize access via an API token.
- Log into your VantixLayer customer dashboard.
- Click on your Profile Icon (usually in the top right corner).
- Select API Tokens from the dropdown menu.
- Click the Create New Token button.
- Copy the generated API Token string to your clipboard.
- Note: Keep this token secure; it acts as your password for API integrations.
Step 2: Connect VantixLayer within Zapier
Now, you will establish the bridge inside the Zapier interface.
- Log into your Zapier dashboard.
- Create a New Zap or click My Apps in the left-hand sidebar.
- Click Add connection and search for “VantixLayer”.
- A popup window will appear asking for your credentials:
- API Token: Paste the token you copied from VantixLayer in Step 1.
- Base URL: Enter the full URL of your VantixLayer installation (e.g.,
[https://mail.yourdomain.com](https://mail.yourdomain.com)). - Important: Ensure you include
https://and do not add a trailing slash at the end.
- Click Yes, continue to verify the connection. If the credentials are correct, the connection will show as “Connected.”
Step 3: Create Your First Automation (Trigger/Action)
Once connected, you can build workflows based on the available triggers and actions.
- Common Triggers: “New Subscriber” (fires when a contact joins an VantixLayer list) or “Campaign Opened.”
- Common Actions: “Add/Update Subscriber” (sends a lead from a web form into an VantixLayer list) or “Send a Campaign.”
